Cheers to the Gals! 7 Black Women-owned Businesses to Help Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Raise a glass to the ladies! It’s Galentine’s Day, when we celebrate the women who carry us through the rough spots and celebrate all our wins, no matter how small. We celebrate our BIPOC makers all year, but since it’s Black History Month, we’re highlighting some of Portland’s Black women-owned businesses that can help you honor your best gals (and guys!) in style.

  • Honeybee Lemonade Syrups: Give your honey a sweet treat! These syrups sparkle in fizzy water, in your cider cocktail, or drizzled over pound cake. Experiment and explore with unique flavors like peach lychee, mango coconut jasmine, or cherry lime.

  • Toyouinspire Flowers: From Oregon-grown tulips to lush red roses, Toyin has the right flowers for all your loves. Preorder online for delivery or pickup at her NW Lovejoy location.

  • Mimi’s Fresh Tees: Outfit your besties in clothing with a message! We ❤️ their Love Over Hate hoodies, and the tee with the important reminder: “Well behaved women rarely make history.”

  • The Cookie Fiend: Owner Diane took her family’s advice to “Be sweet to yo’self!” to heart, and pays it forward with her magically delicious baked goods. They’re made with love and available for preorder, or to pick up inside Grits N Gravy in Downtown Portland.

  • Birds & Bees Nursery: Pick up a sweet potted plant, yard adornment or garden-themed gift for your sweetie that will remind them you care all year long. Lots of bee-friendly supplies, too, in case you have more than birds on your mind…

  • Keia & Martyn’s Coffee: Located inside Lloyd Center, Keia and Martyn roast and brew some of the best coffee around, along with supplies and beans to help you recreate their menu at home. Perfect for your favorite caffeine addict!

  • Helen Rose Skincare: Luscious, allergy-friendly butters, scrubs, oils and washes that make your body and your nose happy! Eco-friendly packaging adds that extra touch of care to a fantastic gift.

And an extra-special cheers to everyone who supports Portland Cider year-round—you’re all in our hearts!
