Portland Cider’s Clackamas Pub Reopens After Remodel As Full Restaurant

CLACKAMAS, Ore. – April 26, 2023 – After nearly three months of renovations, Portland Cider’s flagship Clackamas location is open again, with a full-service restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Vinnie Manna.

The Clackamas pub closed in January for its first major renovation since its grand opening in 2016. Much of the work, which was spearheaded by owners Jeff and Lynda Parrish along with Chef Manna, took place in the kitchen in order to accommodate a full service restaurant. From installing three pizza ovens to a commercial fryer for making classics like fish & chips, the majority of the renovation was focused on bringing the kitchen to a higher standard, to elevate the pub’s food offerings. The pub space also received an update, elevating the table setup to include a more intimate dining area, an updated outdoor space, and changes to integrate table service.

The refreshed menu will feature local produce and Northwest ingredients, with everything made in-house, from the bread and buns to smoking and grinding the meats served. Patrons will find regularly rotating specials alongside long-time pub favorites like the company’s signature cider fondue, plus an upgraded BBQ plate and bangers & fries. A new addition to the menu is hand-tossed artisan pizza, which is one of Chef Manna’s specialties. Along with the new dining options, the beverage list has been updated to include a selection of cider cocktails blended with locally distilled spirits.

“We can’t wait to welcome our guests in for a completely new experience in Clackamas,” said Portland CIder owner Jeff Parrish. “We’ve been waiting for this day for months, and we know that our guests will appreciate the new level of hospitality and the absolutely incredible food coming out of our brand-new kitchen.”

Executive Chef at Clackamas Pub & Restaurant - Vinnie Mana

Chef Manna started his impressive career in California, where he trained in elite, Michelin-starred kitchens across the Los Angeles area. He learned his pizza-making skills from his grandfather in Naples, and Portlanders may recall his turn as the pizzaiolo at Vitaly Paley’s pre-pandemic pizza joint, The Crown.

“I am so pleased to be working with Jeff, Lynda and the entire Portland Cider team to bring a new kind of experience to the Portland area,” said Chef Manna. “It’s been a pleasure to update a restaurant that has a balance of top-quality food and a friendly, inviting atmosphere that complements the Portland Cider brand. Our goal was to craft a menu that matched the award-winning cider made right here at Clackamas, and I’m proud of what we’ve created. And it is a luxury to have access to some of the best fresh ingredients in the world, grown within a few miles of the restaurant and harvested hours before being served.”

Portland Cider in Clackamas is open Wednesday through Saturday, 3 - 9 p.m.. until May 3, when it will return to its normal hours of operation, Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. Visit the restaurant's website to stay updated on hours and food specials.
