Portland’s unharvested, unwanted, and ugly fruit has a promising new destiny: Portland Cider Co. has announced its sixth annual PDX Community Cider program, running August 16 - September 30. The company takes donated edible-quality apples, fruits, and berries from neighborhoods in the Portland Metro Area and turns them into a community cider to raise funds for hungry children.

Our annual Fruit Forward Drive collected a record amount of fruit donations this summer! The resulting 2020 PDX Community Cider is a beautiful blend of fruit from Portland backyards that is slightly wild, tart, and juicy with rich stone fruit. Every can features apples, pears, plums, cherries, and other donated fruits from the Portland community.
